Community Advisory | COVID-19 Updates

03.11.20

LMU continues to monitor the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and is working diligently to safeguard the safety and well-being of our community. Please visit LMU’s Coronavirus Website for the latest information and guidance.

COVID-19 Updates

There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 at LMU. The university is aware of three community members who have been tested for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, we are notifying individuals as appropriate. We have consulted with the LA County Department of Public Health and are following their guidance. They indicate that our community risk factors remain low. Due to spring break, we believe potential community exposure has been very limited. We will keep the community apprised of appropriate updates.

Revised LMU Event Guidelines
All events scheduled through Conference and Event Services through March 31, 2020, will be canceled. No new events will be reserved at this time. All events not scheduled through Conference and Event Services, whether held on- or off-campus, should be canceled through March 31, 2020. This includes all events with external visitors. Please note: Internal departmental meetings can continue noting that A/V and event support will not be available.

LMU Athletics to Compete Without Spectators
Home events will be spectator-free, at least through March 31, 2020. Attendance at home contests will be strictly limited to essential personnel, including student-athletes, coaches, trainers, medical personnel, game officials, and operational and administrative staff members. Fans who have pre-purchased tickets for single events during this time period will receive a refund. For questions, contact the LMU Athletics Ticket Office at 310.338.5466. Athletic events that are not held on LMU’s campus are subject to the attendance policies of the NCAA and host institutions.
