TRAVEL ADVISORIES
Countries and regions meeting one or more of the following criteria are considered "Elevated Risk Regions," and are subject to additional review and authorization in order to promote safety and mitigate risk:
- U.S. Department of State (DOS)
- Travel Advisory Risk Levels of 3 or 4
- Travel Advisory Risk Levels of 1 or 2 that have areas designated as "Do Not Travel" or "Reconsider Travel" when the travel itinerary brings the individual / group to the region designated as "Do Not Travel" or "Reconsider Travel."
- Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC)
- Travel Health Notice Level 4 (Avoid All Travel)
- Travel Health Notice Level 3 (Reconsider Nonessential Travel)
- International SOS (ISOS) (requires log in credentials)
- U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
- Countries subject to comprehensive sanctions programs administered by OFAC.
- Countries or regions which, in the discretion of the International Travel Health & Safety office in coordination with University Risk Management, pose elevated risk to LMU international travelers due to current conditions, alerts, or notifications (e.g., active state of emergency). Travelers will be alerted at the time of registration if their proposed destination falls within this category.
- No Study Abroad programs are approved for "elevated risk regions.".

Elevated Risk Regions
All official LMU travel to the following locations is not covered by our insurance and, therefore, should be postponed until further notice:
- Afghanistan
- Algeria
- Central African Republic
- Chad
- Chechnya
- Democratic Republic of Congo
- Egypt
- Gaza
- Guinea
- Iraq
- Israel
- Ivory Coast
- Lebanon
- Liberia
- Libya
- Mali
- Somalia
- South Sudan
- Sudan
- Syria
- Ukraine
- West Bank
- Yemen
