Accommodations

Host hotel accommodations are being provided by Jamaica Bay Inn and Hilton Garden Inn in Marina del Rey. Special room rate and fees are $267 a night, not including taxes. Jamaica Bay Inn serves as the main host hotel and LMU encourages institutions to make reservations as soon as possible. Jamaica Bay Inn has only 60 rooms available at the special rate. Hilton Garden Inn, located directly across the street will serve as the overflow hotel for the same special rate.

Parking on Campus

On the parking map, we recommend parking in Lot L (Drollinger Parking Lot), Hannon Parking Lot (Lot A), Lot H, or University Hall.

  • IgnatianQ is a conference creating community, developing spirituality, and affirming humanity for LGBTQ+ students at Jesuit schools. Since being founded at Fordham University in the spring of 2014, IgnatianQ has been hosted by AJCU schools across the country. 

    IgnatianQ was founded at Fordham university in spring 2014 with 2025 marking the 11th year of the IgnatianQ Conference being hosted by AJCU school around the country, including:

    • 2014 at Fordham University: “Finding God in the LGBTQ and Ally Jesuit Student Community”
    • 2015 at Georgetown University: “Forming Contemplative Communities to Ignite Action”
    • 2016 at Seattle University: “Celebrating Identities: Queer Solidarity at Jesuit Schools”
    • 2017 at Santa Clara University: “Finding Q-munity”
    • 2018 at Loyola Maryland University: “Cura Personalis: Resilience in our Wholeness”
    • 2019 at College of the Holy Cross: “Translating Resilience into Action”
    • 2020-2022: Canceled due to COVID-19
    • 2023: Fordham University: “Homines Pro Aliis: Queer Activism Rooted in Justice and Love”
    • 2024: St. Louis University: “Queerly Beloved: An Intersectional Celebration of Queer Spirituality”
  • April 3-6, 2025, ending by 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 6. Starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 3.

  • The conference will be hosted by Loyola Marymount University and in the greater Los Angeles community.

  • Yes, the leadership planning committee is looking for students, faculty, and staff to consider submitting proposals to present at the IgnatianQ conference. The committee is looking for multiple formats and topics. We also encourage intercampus collaboration in submitting a proposal.

  • The leadership planning committee is looking to introduce three potential new events at IgnatianQ 2025.

    • Queer Film Festival: LMU’s top ranked School of Film and Television faculty and students will assist in selecting short films produced by IgnatianQ participants who submit a film for consideration. The film festival will occur on April 3, the evening before the conference begins. This is a great opportunity for IgnatianQ participants to showcase their creatively, talent and storytelling with an audience of attendees. Individuals can submit for consideration to the film festival can register interest in the IgnatianQ Registration Form for more information.
    • L.A. Queer History Bus Tour: Faculty members from LMU's Women and Gender Studies will help guide a bus tour through some of the historical aspects of queer L.A.
    • IgnatianQ Service Opportunity: IgnatianQ will once again provide an opportunity for attendees to participate in a structured service opportunity with one of L.A.’s most significant charities. 
  • Early bird registration is $65 per person by Feb. 3, After Feb. 3, participants can still register for the conference for $80 but hotel options will not be available.

    Individuals who may find paying the registration fee prohibitive to attend should contact the IgnatianQ Conference Leadership team at IgnatianQ@lmu.edu for possible assistance.

  • LMU will be providing a coach bus to bring attendees to and from the hotels to LMU and back each day of the conference, as well as any off-campus engagements in the Los Angeles area. The hotels are also 15 minutes from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as well, which is easily accessible by Uber/taxi, or by taking the number three bus which runs every 20 minutes.

  • Meals will be provided with the exception of some off-site meals that will need to be covered by attendees.

  • Both hotels offer parking at $32/day, hotel parking fees are not included in the registration/hotel pricing. Parking is also available on LMU’s campus for $15/day, parking payments are only needed for Monday through Friday.

  • In early April, L.A. is typically warm with sunny and cloudy days, and some rain:

    Temperature
    The average high temperature is around 69°F and the average low is around 50°F. Afternoon highs can reach 69°F.  So, while a coat isn’t necessary, sweatshirts and light jackets are encouraged for the evenings.

    Rain
    L.A. typically gets less than one inch of rain in April, with about four days of rain total. However, El Niño can increase the amount of rain that falls.

    Sea temperature
    The average sea temperature is around 60°F, so it might not be ideal for swimming.
