Updates About Preparations for Spring Semester
October 9, 2020
Dear LMU Community,
I share an update about our preparations for the spring semester. As you may be aware, higher education campuses in L.A. County remain closed in compliance with mandates from public health authorities. Although L.A. County Department of Public Health (LACDPH) has indicated that they will not consider plans for reopening colleges and universities until after Thanksgiving, I realize that you—our students, faculty, and staff—need time to plan and prepare for next year.
We are diligently exploring scenarios and solutions for Spring 2021; we will announce our plans by Monday, Oct. 19, 2020.
Our goal, one that we all share, is to return to our beautiful campuses to learn, teach, work, live, and be in community with one another. We are working around-the-clock to reopen our campuses as soon as we are permitted, and as soon as it is safe to do so. We remain committed to delivering our trademark LMU experience, whether virtually or in-person, thanks to our dedicated faculty and staff. We are fueled by our students: your resilience and ambition inspire us to innovate and thrive despite these uncertain times.
I invite you to visit lmu.edu/together for the latest updates, and I look forward to updating you again soon with further information. I pray for your continued good health and wellness.
With gratitude,
Thomas Poon, Ph.D.
