Marshall Sauceda

Message from the President

Dec. 5, 2014

Dear LMU Community:

It is with sadness that I inform you of the death of Marshall Sauceda, associate vice president of student affairs for LMU. Marshall, who was 60 years old, passed away Thursday after an extended illness.

Marshall joined LMU in 1997 as assistant dean for student development and served in many key roles for the Division of Student Affairs. He also created the Department of Ethnic and Intercultural Services, which serves a key function at this institution, and he took an active role in developing the Social Justice Scholarships for the university.

Marshall was a kind and thoughtful man who was highly respected throughout the university, and who was deeply loyal to LMU, especially to the students he served as an advocate and friend.

Memorial services are pending.

Please keep Marshall and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

David W. Burcham
President
